For full sized images with sufficient resolution to print, I was unable to distinguish a difference. To date, my results have been limited and I think the answer is it depends. When using ON1 Resize 2021, I applied the software’s default sharpening for print output. One question which remains is whether these programs’ benefits translate into print output. Both Resize AI and Topaz Gigapixel produce good results with the added features that Gigapixel provides. If I were more of a portraitist or someone who needs a fast turnaround speed, I might give R-AI a serious look. I like the processing speed of ReSize AI, and it's color and luminance fidelity in the face seems a bit better than Gigapixel. After about two weeks of use with resize AI, my original observations hold. It's going to come down to personal preference.
